The Riffle Shrimp in general has a pale yellow to clear body with a distinct yellow/white stripe running down its back. It uses its signature fan-like appendages to filter tiny particles of food out of the water as it flows passed.
Distribution: Naturally found amongst shallow creeks across eastern Australia
Temperature: Ideally 17 – 23 degrees Celsius
Adult Size: Approx. 6cm
Feeding: Filter feeds on tiny food particles and scrap food of the bottom.
Sexing: All Shrimp are born Male and Change sex to female at about 3-4cm
Riffle Shrimp are a great addition to any peaceful community tank, although they may prey on fish fry or shrimplets. Avoid Large aggressive tank mates and excessively high temperatures.
