Size - approx 1-1.5cm
The North Qld Algae Shrimp is a very popular and active algae-eating species. They are ravenous eaters, consuming not only most algae, but eat dead plant castoff material (detritus) and clean the tank of leftover food.
They are quite small, averaging between 1-2cm centimeters, making them ideal for a smaller tank. They only resist eating blue-green and green spot algae ( but have known to eat Black Beard Algae when no other food source is available)
It's one of the best all rounder clean up crew

I put about 10 into a 35L tank that has the start of a fine hair algae outbreak and a few spots of black beard. Within 1 hour they'd completely striped the algae off a decent sized clump of Java fern and had started on the next. They have not stopped since the moment they went in the tank. MUCH braver than cherry shrimp, very strong swimmers. They even cleaned my snails while they were on the move.
Multiple parasites on shrimp and loose in bag. Asked for advice online for how to treat and found 4 other people with the same issues from the same supplier at similar purchase time. Let company know of their problem. Did let them know of the others and asked to be informed with how they deal with the infestation (so I could do it too) but was then ignored after that request.
They came in healthy, holding fantastic in my tank.
Timely supply and delivery. Packed well all shrimp arrived safely. Very pleased with service and live product.
All shrimps (and a couple extra which was great) arrived promptly and in good health. All settled well - in fact two have berried. Will definitely use Abquatics again, thanks!
