I recently purchased several of these great fish. They are very peaceful, love their algae and are tough little guys. They don't live on algae alone though. They love to eat algae wafers, blanched zucchini and live food (mine get grindal worms, that I grow). They are tough, calm little guys; but just like other fish, with a little care (you can't just forget about them and never feed them) and keeping with other similar-sized fish, they will thrive. I wouldn't be without otos in my tank.
Great colour by the second night in the tank, fish always arrive healthy.
