The pygmy corydoras is a silver-colored fish, with an unbroken black line that runs horizontally along the center of the sides of the fish from the tip of its snout to its caudal peduncle. It has a second thin black line along the lower part of the side of the body, from behind the ventral fins and continuing into the tail. The top part of the body has a light black or dark gray shading that starts on the top of its snout and ends at the tail.Newly hatched fry have vertical stripes along the sides of their bodies that fade by the end of their first month, when the horizontal stripes of the adult fish begin to appear.
The maximum length of the species is about 3.2 centimeters (1.3 in), but typical adult sizes are 1.9 centimeters (0.75 in) for males and 2.5 centimeters (1.0 in) for females. In addition to their larger length, females are also rounder and broader than males, especially when they have eggs. Young fry grow rapidly after hatching, reaching 13 millimeters (0.51 in) in six to eight weeks.
Ordered 5 and got 6, all alive and super active. Love them !!
I purchased a trio to begin with and added them to my well established planted tank. One arrived dead (despite being in the post for less than 24 hours) and the other two subsequently died within the following hours. Wouldn’t order again, I’ve ordered fish from many other online sellers and NEVER had these issues
I purchased 5 pygmys to add to a community tank. I was very pleased with the way the fish were packaged, including a heat pack. Express post came the day after I was notified of Aus post pick up. All 5 fish were alive, a little cold and colourless, but coloured up within 30 mins of being added to my tank. After hearing horror stories online regarding posting fish I was really pleased with the quality of service. The pygmys are adorable and I haven't stopped watching them since they were added to my tank. Won't be so scared to have fish shipped now that I know the quality of the service provided. Thanks.
I ordered 10 pygmy corys and they arrived in good health. It only took a day before they were roaming all over the tank. Super cute and fun to watch!
Arrived safely, all alive! Got one extra too :D
