Ancistrus is a genus of nocturnal freshwater fish in the family Loricariidae of order Siluriformes, native to freshwater habitats in South America and Panama. Fish of this genus are common in the aquarium trade where they are known as bushynose or bristlenose catfish. In the aquarium hobby they are often referred to as bushynose or bristlenose plecos instead, but this may lead to confusion as "pleco" usually is used for Hypostomus plecostomus and its allies and is often used as a catchall term for any loricariids remotely resembling that species.
I’m not really one to leave a review, but given the excellent condition of the fish I received, I highly recommended buying from Abquatics. I purchased a few catfish and 40 mixed guppy/endler fry all arrived by mail happy and healthy and iv not had 1 casualty. Thanks guys, I’m very happy and will be back when these babes are big enough to be in a communal tank.
Healthy colour beautiful fish and your she’s still alive
Unfortunately 2 of the 3 were dead on arrival but the delivery driver left the box on its end so the catfish were sitting on top of the heat pad. The survivor is absolutely a beautiful fish and thriving.
All 3 were dead on arrival. Was so sad to see the poor things. The company did offer to replace them but with a $20 shipping fee. I wasn't willing to risk putting anymore through that.
